Merry Christmas
And holidays are back again. :)
I've been quite happy since I got a great and unexpected gift this year. An intuos 5. It's really thin and it doesn't take so much space like my old one.
Here's some differences:
Also the difference from 1024 pressure sensitivity to 2048 it's quite nice.
I'm a bit worried about the plastic nib intuos 5 has. I only used it for a few days and it's already blunt. The one from my old intuos 3 took months to get on this stage. Might be because of the surface, intuos 5 has actually a great grip.
Anyway, here's the first drawing I made with it...

Out of mana?
Things have been weird lately and I didn't got the time to draw as much personal stuff, except some sketches and a mana potion.
I found the sketch of this mana potion I made while randomly browsing through my old works and I decided I should definitely finish it by the end of 2012.
I think I have at least 2 more personal drawings I have to finish up before the end of this year. Wish me luck.

Speedie
Some speed painting self portrait.
I really wanted to take this into a complex self portrait, but I stopped at about 40 mins.
Obviously, this wasn't it.

Lady and the Tramp
Um, I must say that the new interface for blogger is kind of weird.
I try to get past the urge that everybody has when changes are made to these sites, which is automatically hate.
Honestly I don't understand why the developers when trying to improve an interface, even a game end up with totally crap. They should let things as they are and improve them with advanced stuff not just changing the design and worse adding idiotic animations to buttons. I find this very confusing and ridiculous and maybe right now I just don't want to get past that urge that makes me hate the new interface, for blogger, photoshop and a series of games!
So while trying to ignore all this I should probably add some new stuff that I've worked on.
My drawing jam entry after lots of caffeine. Theme was re-designing any character from Lady & the Tramp. I went for the main chars

Oil Painting "The Road"
So I really wanted to paint something traditionally for a while now and I decided a simple landscape will do.
For the subject I choose something really simple, so it could go faster.
It took around 5-6 hrs in about 2 days.
So here's my landscape:
Size: 48x38cm
I also made a recording out of it and it came out quite in low quality which reminds me I really need to get a camera...

S comes from...
September came faster then I wanted. Even though I've spend the last 2 weeks travelling I only have a few pics to share.
More pics to my facebook page: Photography
As for drawing, here's some sketches.
I'm trying to become faster since I tend to lose a lot of time and also I definitely want to make my stuff more dynamic.
About 4-6 minutes for each pose.
And check up some speed painting. Almost 1 hr, with reference. This supposed to be a 5 min sketch but I got carried away.

Progress for queen
Here's an illustration in progress that I did for a children's book.
Even if for now I won't be able to add any of these illustration, I will get that chance around the end of this year.

Old Wacom tablet
Even if these days I use an Wacom Intuos 3 I still find my old Wacom Graphire 4 useful while I travel, because of it's size.
Wacom Graphire 4 was my fourth tablet after an Easy Pen tablet I got in 2000.Recently I found it's box while cleaning and I thought making a picture of it before dispose of the box would be a good idea.
It followed another Genius tablet with 512 pressure levels. and later I tried a faulty Trust A4 tablet that I had to return.
So I got the Wacom Graphire 4 in 2006 and used it for 2 years before the rubber grip pen failed me. It started to "dissolve" somehow until it fell apart, letting the pen bare and uncomfortable to hold.
Now, I decided I'll have an attempt at fixing the pen since it's working perfectly.
Any ideas?
I don't think buying a new pen it's my solution since i'm saving for the new Intuos 5.
