So here's a new attempt to a cartoonish self portrait.
I started this in photoshop from scratch and I had in mind something else but then I went in this direction.

Photoshop Tutorial & Tips
Here are some things that I use a lot in Photoshop CS3
.................................................
How to turn a Path into a a Shape Layer tutorial.
Let's say you've made a Path, but you actually want a Shape.
Select the path with the path selection tool.
Go to Layer > New Fill Layer > Solid Color.
You will get this menu:
Select None as color, because that is not the color of your new shape but the color of the layer and click Ok. You have turned a path into a new shape layer.
You can also use the Create new fill or adjustment layer button in the layers palette.
....................................................................
Helpful Shortcuts:
Shift + Backspace - Fills selection
Crtl+J - Copies a layer or selection into place
Cursor problem?
If you sometimes get the cursor turned from Normal Brush Tip into Precise even though you didn't change it's preset it means you hit by mistake Caps Look. To set it back hit again Caps Look.

Birthday & H.I.S.
Hello...
Well this weekend was quite fun, I kept celebrating my birthday since Thursday and it came out better then most of the years.
I wanted badly to get some colored pencils but I didn't find the brand I wanted, though I still have some more places to check so hopefully I'll get my present this week.
Meanwhile here's the front cover for H.I.S.
and the back cover:

Zeus Sketch
I've been working on some more things for the past days and I also got back to continue an old work started last year. It was mainly a rough sketch which will eventually become a composition and I do hope I'll get the time needed to finish it by the end of this year.
In the meanwhile here's a sketch of Zeus.

Character Designs I
Here's some characters designs I made on the begging of this year (2011) for a project at my ex-job.
Probably they'll never get to see the light for what they were created which is sad from a certain point of view.
They're clothing is inspired by Romanian traditional costumes.
I lost so many of these drawings, several male characters designs, as well female concepts and an environmental painting, but I'm sure that it's only the way toward improvement. ;)
Better works will come.
Made with Photoshop CS4 & Wacom Intuos4 using some of my custom brushes.
Innkeepers
A female tailor and her daughter.
Leatherworker and a female villager.
